Chez Dudu

Anyone who has ever been to the Genevan village of Russin via train will be familiar with the small house next to the station.

The structure of the house may seem familiar: in fact, architectural duplicates extend from Geneva all the way to Marseilles - the maisons de garde-barrière of the PLM line.

What makes this particular home so special is the man who lives inside it. Known affectionately as Dudu, he is a beloved one-man welcoming committee before the arduous climb uphill to the village proper. A lover of pétanque and his select group of fiancées (of which I am proudly one), Dudu is generous of heart and spirit, and will always invite you to share a verre de vin in his garden.

This on-going documentary project is one attempt to capture some of the magic of Dudu and his home. 🧡
