The January Project
Russin (Geneva), Switzerland
January 2021
I began this series as an experiment: what would happen if I produced one photograph, taken in the same place every day, for one month?
Discovering its photographic potential on New Year’s Day, I used my fireplace as a backdrop and hybrid studio. I searched for items to photograph within our home; most of what you see pictured are family heirlooms, each with their own story. Even as a professional photographer, still life photography is a new practice for me, and I quickly fell in love with the simple, meditative moments I found every evening.
I’m so pleased to now offer fine art prints from this project. I hope that with these photographs I can share with you some of the joy that I’ve had in creating them!
About the Prints
In addition to being a photographer I am also a trained preservation specialist, so it is my top priority that any prints I create from my work are of a high and lasting quality.
Remo Eyer was the friendliest face in my favorite photo shop when I studied abroad in Zurich fourteen years ago. He has since opened his own Fine Art printing shop, and creates prints for some of Switzerland’s best artists. After visiting his studio and selecting the best paper and processes for this project, I am thrilled to work with him now to create these prints for you.
